Santa Came!

Christmas morning was full of excitement! Sarah Graves was up first and eager to see if Santa came! She very nicely came and got the rest of us so we could enjoy it together!
Santa brought Charlie several things he wanted - the football he asked for plus a new electric circuit set and a BB gun! 

Sarah Graves was very excited to see this Barbie house! It was the only thing she asked for and it is quite large! She is very excited that the family can park in the garage and loved the cute little desk with lift up top and the fun, pink, office chair! 

She also got some Mad Matr and a book of Guinness World Records! She kept calling it Genesis and didn't believe us until finally a friend corrected her!

We came down to find Lucy had already discovered her new. bed and was already in love!






















We spent the rest of the morning going through stockings and opening gifts from one another! We took a break to enjoy breakfast of French toast casserole and no one cared that there was not bacon because it was too charred to eat!

The kids enjoyed having time to test out some of their new toys before it was time to go to Lovie and Pops'. Lots of fun!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
