Roadtrip to Great Wolf Lodge

For fall break, we hit the road and headed to North Carolina to Great Wolf Lodge!


Of course, a trip to an indoor water park required pedicures!

We stopped for gas and Charlie pointed out that we could get a snack! Lovie and Pops have taught them well!


We stopped for lunch and had such a nice time with them.



Oh my goodness were they excited to get there and see our room! They had the coolest :wolf den" that gave them their own little space with bunkbeds and a TV. Sissy claimed the top bunk and Charlie didn't fuss too much!


I was anxious to check out the water park. Charlie was just over 42 inches tall and able to ride all the slides except for one! So much fun!


There was trick or treating in the lobby and we couldn't miss that! The kids were excited to explore the hotel and getting candy was also great!
We had dinner at the buffet restaurant and it was so gross! Even Sarah Graves pointed out that the croutons were bad and she couldn't understand how they got those wrong!
After dinner we headed out to Walk-Mart because Sarah Graves forgot her underwear! Thank goodness it was close by.

We made it back in time for story time with Wally the wolf before bed. 

Charlie was already asleep, but Sarah Graves was awake for a special delivery from Wally bringing cookies and milk for a bedtime snack!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
