A Visit to the Pink Pig

The Pink Pig is an Atlanta holiday tradition that was started by Rich's department store after World War II as a way to attract suburban shoppers to their downtown store.  You can read the history of Priscilla the Pink Pig here.  Macy's has now taken over the ride and it is setup at their Lenox Mall location in a tent on the rooftop.
This is the huge inflatable Priscilla on Macy's rooftop.

I wanted to check out this Atlanta tradition and thought SG was old enough to try it this year.  We waited in line for over an hour to finally see what this pink pig was all about.

She and Aaron rode together on what is basically a pink train that shows little vignettes about Priscilla and her friends and Priscilla through the years.

This is the much smaller original ride that was only for young children.

All in all, I don't think it was a huge hit with her.  She seemed kind of neutral about it, so we probably won't wait in that long line for it every year.  I am glad that we now know what it is all about!
