Christmas Eve

 Christmas Eve was a busy day at our house.  I picked up the camera sporadically, so we don't have a ton of pictures.  We skyped with Grandaddy and Mimi and Grancy and Ger Ger so they could watch SG open the presents that they shipped to her.  She had a great time tearing through presents and is only just now starting to calm down enough to really pay attention to some!  Everyone enjoyed watching her as she did her thing.

 We went to the early church service so that SG could go with us and boy that sure was different than going to midnight mass!  Imagine about 100 of Sarah Graves in a sanctuary doing a Christmas pageant.  My head was spinning, but it was nice to be with Mom and Dad and I love singing all the carols. 
Then, we all came back to our house for an unconventional, albeit yummy Christmas dinner of sensation salad, spaghetti and meatballs, and almond cream cake.  I'm not big on the turkey and dressing meal, so we just decided to make this.  The spaghetti and meatball recipe was from The Pioneer Woman and it was a great one!  We also had some of the Christmas cookies that I had baked earlier in the week.  Snicker-doodles, iced sugar cookies, and peanut butter balls are favorites for us.
 Sarah Graves enjoyed showing Lovie and Pops some of her new toys.
After eating several cookies herself, she was pleased to put some out for Santa.  Our Santa requested some eggnog for his cookies.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
