New Year's

Just in time for New Year's we were free from quarantine! We went to the lake and had a chance to visit with Mr. Dan and Beverly! We hadn't seen Lovie, Pops, or Maw Maw for over 2 weeks, so it was good to be with them too!
The whole weekend passed in a bit of a blur as I was still really fatigued and had an annoying cough. Frequent naps got me through and we enjoyed our time together. 
We missed time with Nay and Livy as they were still getting over COVID.

Charlie showed off his marksmanship with the BB gun! Pops helped him get the right set up and he was a good shot!

Mom and I had fun putting this charcuterie board together as part of our appetizer dinner!



Everybody likes appetizers for dinner!

After dinner, we headed outside to sit by the fire and shoot some fireworks!
Charlie stepped in as chief fire builder!

Sis was content to sit back and observe. 


It took a while to get it going, but finally success!



We couldn't forget our favorite tradition of the saran wrap ball on New Year's Eve!

Candy and lottery scratch offs were exciting wins!

Happy New Year! Time to ring in 2022!

So grateful to be part of a family that enjoys a low key New Year's Eve spending time together and celebrating with people we love!
Here's hoping 2022 brings us many good time together filled with love!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
