SG and Mommy Time

 Aaron and Charlie went on a Cub Scout campout and it gave me time with just Sarah Graves. We had a fun and social weekend! Sis started the weekend off with a fun playdate with her friend Marcela and I joined them for a great dinner!

Saturday morning we were up early for a day at the zoo with her friend Chase! We had beautiful weather and it was great to be outside!



We went straight to the ropes course! The girls enjoyed testing their balance and zipping through the air!


The girls enjoyed a frozen lemonade while they watched the elephants. 

We were watching the zebras and commenting on their stripes when this guy started to take a BIG dump right in front of us! Everybody poops!



Chase loved the reptiles, especially the snakes. Sarah Graves was very uncomfortable with those snakes around and couldn't wait to get out of that section!



The giant bird nest is a must photo op!

We were all excited to see the red panda out and about.

Had a great day with my best girl!

Later that evening Sarah Graves decided to dust off her pasta maker and she made her best batch of pasta ever! 


She was so pleased with her delicious buttered noodles! 

What a fun day doing things she loves!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
