Hogwarts Camp

The kids have been so excited for Hogwarts camp! It has definitely been much anticipated.

They were both sure the Sorting Hat would identify them as Gryffindors! With a few details from me, here is what the Sorting Hat shared.
For Charlie, the Sorting Hat said,
Charlie loves to use his smarts to solve a problem. whether it is building something new with Legos or solving a puzzle in a video game, he is eager for the challenge.
His curiosity leads Charlie to learn many things like how traffic cameras work, how to use the oven, and what Alexa’s favorite snack is (she cannot say).
Charlie always speaks his mind and tells it like it is. Want to know what you need to work on, just ask Charlie and he’ll tell it to you straight!
Charlie’s favorite color is blue!

Here is what the Sorting Hat had to say for Sarah Graves:
Sarah Graves wants everyone to get along and be happy. She will look for compromise to ensure everyone gets some part of what they want.
She is loyal to her friends. When a friend is being called a name they don’t like, she stands up for that friend.
She is smart as a Ravenclaw and brave as a Gryffindor, but her kind spirit truly shines. She wants to be friends with everyone, include all her friends, and is willing to share whatever she has.

Although they both had fun on their first day of camp, Sarah Graves was a little heart broken that out of 6 good friends in camp, she was the only one selected for Hufflepuff. My initial thought was to push the issue and insist she be switched. I was so proud to hear that she spoke up for what she wanted and had asked the lead teacher, but was told no. That made me even angrier! She seemed disappointed, but not overly upset so after talking it over, we decided to leave it as is. She showed a lot of maturity because I was prepared to fight for her to be switched and wouldn't blame her if she pitched a fit.
