Family Time

We had a fun and relaxing time spending a rainy weekend at the lake. 
The kids had so much fun making these yummy nummies - tiny, edible treats!

Smiles all around for this craft!

Charlie's was hamburger and French fries with a little cup of liquid that looked like coke. The fruity flavored "catsup" was his favorite!


Sissy was proud of her tiny ice cream sundaes!

We found a little dry weather and the kids enjoyed being out on the boat. We have moved up to riding the raft standing to give a thrill!

They did another craft decorating little bird houses with these really cool paint markers that Lovie found. They give the look of paint on the wood but are like using a marker!



We can't forget their performances! Most notable was "A Hopeful Campout" where Charlie was the dad and SG and Olivia are the kids going on a campout! Frustration over lack of following what they had rehearsed ensued and the show broke down, but it is funny to watch them try to be grownups and organize themselves and their ideas!

My favorite part was the chance to just hang out and relax!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
