Snow Mountain

After seeing commercials on TV, we finally decided to check out Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park. It was coooollllld out, but we were ready for snow tubing!



The kids immediately got into on the kids tube area! 

 There was also area to just enjoy playing in the snow that they make regularly. In fact, Charlie got some of down his jacket when he walked under the stream of snow as it was coming out!






After they played and played in the kids area, we grabbed a bite for dinner before it was our turn to go in the big snow tubing area The food was horrible!


The snow tubing was awesome! There were 2 slides. One to do either as a duo or a single rider that was similar to regular sledding and a lot of fun! The other, you did as a group of 8 in a huge tube that went down a steep hill and made you feel you might fall out of the tube! A lot of fun!
As the sun went down, the tubing area was lit up by cool, multi-colored lights and fun music was playing. It definitely felt cool as we went down!

Charlie's friend Michael, and his family were there. We did the big family tube ride with them and that made it more fun!

This was such a fun outing!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
