On Our Way!

I have been super-busy with work and getting this family ready for our much anticipated trip to Disney!  Last Saturday, we were up early to make the drive down to Disney!
Charlie and Daddy took a minute for a pre vacation selfie!



A stop at Chick-Fil-A gave us a chance to have breakfast with Lovie and Pops before we all headed out and the kiddos got some energy out in the play area.  

I was so excited to see these gates!  I have been planning for months and was so anxious to see it all come together!  

We chose to stay at the Contemporary because of its close proximity to the Magic Kingdom.  I had thoughts that the monorail would make it easy for us to come and go throughout the day, but that one didn't quite pan out.  

Charlie was so precious saying, "I excited!  I excited!"
We arrived in the late afternoon with the idea that we wanted to get settled and be ready for our first park day.  I promised the kids a trip to the pool, but the several hours it took to get our luggage to our room put a damper on that.  Sarah Graves and I still went, it was just really late!  

 That first night we had a very special visitor to our room, Tinkerbelle!  For our first day she brought an extra special Cinderella ensemble that included a tiara, dress, and shoes.  Those shoes turned out to be a real hit and Sarah Graves barely took them off the whole trip!  There was also a toy for Charlie.  I think Tinkerbelle couldn't come up with an outfit that he would want to wear and decided a toy that he would enjoy would be better than some costume.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
