Snow Fun!

We really enjoyed our adventures with the snow!  The kids and I had a great morning at home playing outside in the snow, then coming in to warm up and play around before taking naps.

We were so excited for Aaron to get home after his overnight stay with Jeanne'  We hd a great time that afternoon playing in the snow and showing him our "sled"!


They wanted to come down our snow covered slide together!

Just hanging around the house.

Doing a little reading together.

Charlie couldn't decide what he thought of the snow.

Sissy was busy baking up some snow cake!

She also learned how to make a snow angel.  

The afternoon gave us a nice time to play outside with daddy.  We used a metal cake pan as our sled and our steep driveway made a fun hill!


We also used our trash can a little more for Charlie to try sledding.

We really enjoyed ourselves and the bit of snow we had.  It made me miss all those winter vacations we took skiing when I was a kid.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Teenager!

Sarah Graves loves baking, watching baking shows, and has lots of ideas about cake decorating. She wanted to decorate her cake herself and made it a team effort with Lovie.  She was very proud of the finished product and learned that piping icing isn't as easy as it looks! For her party, friends went ice skating then came back to our house for food and cake! This guy we referred to as "Cat Man" skated around with his cat and at time with hold the cat under its front legs just above the ice and let it sway as he skated! The cat did not seem to mind...it sure did catch our attention! Pierced ears mean fun earrings! Aunt Lexie definitely picked fun ones with these rubber chickens! So many people love this sweet girl and showed up to celebrate her!
