Turning Four!

It is hard to believe my baby is four years old!  She has been looking forward to her birthday for months!  She is very excited to be four because she knows that four-year-olds go to pre-k, and let's face it, birthdays are just plain fun!
We talked a lot about her actual birthday versus her birthday party and she understood the difference, so we have been celebrating her birthday here and there for a week now!  Monday night we celebrated by opening her presents from me and Aaron.  Aaron had a work event on Tuesday night, so we decided to let her open them early!
She was in a wonderful mood, even presents don't always get a wonderful mood, and was filled with joy.  It was such a wonderful evening to be with her!


This set to make beaded necklaces was a big hit!  She has been interested in beads and loves all the different shapes and sizes.
It's hard to see in this picture, but these shoes look like they were dipped in glitter!  I bought them for her for playing dress up.

Her dad picked up a Fapunzel dress up dress that quickly won a place in her heart!  She beams when she looks at it and plans to wear it to her princess party.

The joy of wearing her new things and making necklaces!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
