Lovie's Birthday

This year for Lovie's birthday we made it an all day affair!  We met up that morning and went into the evening.  It was a day jam packed with fun.  

We started with some family photos followed by a tasty brunch off Marietta Square.  It's always easier to eat in a restaurant with kids when you have five adults to two kids!

After brunch we checked out the farmer's market and enjoyed a few treats.
After the farmer's market we headed up to Ellijay for the Apple Festival.  

This boy was so sweet and loved watching and waving at people!



Sissy was very sweet the whole time and enjoyed the kids' area very much!

We left the Apple Festival when it closed and headed back to Atlanta for dinner at Pappadeaux's!

I made salted caramel cupcakes in hopes of getting the recipe similar to what my great grandmother made for her when she was growing up.  Not sure how close my recipe came to her caramel cake, but the cupcakes were pretty tasty!

We hope that Lovie had a birthday as special as we think she is!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
