Gramma & Grancy Come to Visit

Image
Granny and Gramma came to visit Valentine's weekend. We had a very relaxed weekend with lots of time at home just hanging out with them.  Sarah Graves was so excited to see Grancy! Charlie remembered that the fox says, "Gramma Gramma!" Sarah Graves loves having new people to play with and she had a chance to show Gramma how much she likes the vintage Barbie clothes that Gramma's aunt made for her when she was little. We had my family over to visit and this cutie was excited to show off her new walking! After dinner we took some photos in our "photo booth" My little valentine's! Their visit was over all too quick, but they made some great memories. Time playing babies, Barbie's,  and doing crafts.

Ash Wednesday

One of the great things about school at St. B's is the chance to attend chapel service with the kids. Lovie was able to join Sarah Graves to get her ashes. Meanwhile, I was home with Charlie who was feeling really rotten running fever from a virus. Poor buddy.

My Rock Collection

A couple years ago Sarah Graves started picking up rocks she found on the playground to bring to me. She would say, "momma, I thought about you today." One time I asked her why she only brought the rocks to me and she said it was because I thought about her while I was at work and brought her treats.  I thought that was so sweet. When  we have meetings at work with leftover snacks or treats, I try to snag a few to bring to them and I always say that I thought of them and brought the treat. Charlie has joined in on the effort and my collection grows. I'll be honest that some rocks don't make it to work, but many of them do. I keep my collection on my bookshelf and it reminds me of my sweet kiddos.

Sweet Girl

Lucky for SG, the day after our big night out was an easy one, a field trip to the aquarium!  It was also my birthday and she wanted me to wear the birthday crown! I had a nice birthday spent with people I love.

Date with a Sweetheart

Sarah Graves and I had a last minute opportunity to see Beauty and the Beast at the Fox. I was super-excited to take her to see a broadway style show!  We rushed down there on a Wednesday night and were excited to get to our seats with a few minutes to spare! She enjoyed the show and I really enjoyed it as the stage production is different than the movie or the shows we saw at Disney. It was a late night for her, but we had a good time!

Mardi Gras!

I am always homesick during Mardi Gras, but we do our best to have a little celebration. This year, we went to Cheesecake Factory for a yummy dinner! Sometimes we have avoided going to Cheesecake with the kids because the service can be slow, but on this particular night, they were a delight to dine with! Sarah Graves was so cute giving Charlie instruction on using his manners and she was in awe of the interior with its tall columns and cool design! Happy Mardi Gras! Ash Wednesday was not so happy for Charlie. He started running a fever and felt rotten the next day. He laid on the sofa and was pitiful. Sarah Graves was very excited that Lovie came to chapel with her to get ashes! It is so nice that chapel is open to parents and grandparents to join.
