Time with Papaw

Image
Thursday morning we headed over to Papaw's to visit with him.   Charlie looked out the window and said, "Papaw, you have a big yard." After that we headed out to see what all Papaw has outside. Lots of space to run! 4 wheelers to go for a ride! A garden full with cucumbers, tomatoes, peas that the deer ate, peaches that the birds are eating, muscadines, and potatoes! Even though the tomatoes are not yet ripe, Charlie had to check each one! He showed them how to dig a potato and this left an impression on Charlie Papaw planted this tree about 1960 and look how it has grown! The kids enjoyed swinging on Mamaw's swing. I imagine she was smiling down watching them enjoy her lovely place so much.

Crafting

The kids fell asleep about 5:30 on Saturday after a busy morning and afternoon. We thought they would go on sleeping and quickly made plans to watch a movie and ordered a pizza. About an hour later a wailing Charlie made his way downstairs. A while later Sissy came down energized from a good nap! We embraced the late night that was ahead and I started a craft project with them. The project was making a bottle full of glow stars to occupy kids while they try to fall asleep. Ours didn't come out like the picture, but they had fun and liked their creation.

Future Acolyte

The kids go to Children's Chapel  while  we are in the service and they join us during the offering. When they come in, a few kids get to wear a robe and carry a banner or the children's prayers. SG takes great pride in getting to do this. She looks just precious, too!

Getting There

Image
We are headed to Shreveport for a few days. I have to say travel with these two keeps getting easier. There isn't as much to pack and they can entertain themselves more in the car. Road trip snooze Breakfast before we get back on the road!

Lazy Sunday

Image
On one of those spectacular Sunday's when everyone takes a nap after church, we rise to go to an event for the swim school and to look after Livy for a bit. The swim event was a party with treats, games, and face painting to celebrate the new pool space. Afterwards we took the kids out for dinner. The big kids got restless, but this cutie happily napped a bit and then held court with the staff while sitting in her high chair.

Saturday Outings

My Dad and Aaron took a fly fishing class, so Mom and I took the kids to the children's museum. My kids love this place! Sissy tried out the fishing Making some shoes. This reminds me of my Paw Paw's shoe repair shop. The magic sand is a big hit and the only activity they both really want to do! Charlie is constant motion and a challenge to keep up with in this big place. Charlie lost a button as soon as we got there and went around with a caveman look. Wonder if he realizes how much this is like nursing? This cutie was with us and happily watched her cousins buzzing around. She cackles when they move fast!

Pool and Playground

The kids swam awhile then decided to hit the playground before we went home. Sissy was swinging and Char so sweetly offered to push her. So cute on the tire swing together. Charlie was manning his pirate ship. Arrr!
