Home Again, Home Again!

Image
I recently had a meeting to attend in Savannah for several days.  Rather than stressing the kids out with me being gone, Mom offered to pack up and come down there with the kids (have I mentioned that she is the best and most devoted mom and grandmother?).  After Charlie's appointments, we loaded and headed down there.   My days started early and went late, but I did have a chance to see the kids a little in the evening and put them to bed at night.  Charlie and I continued our middle of the night meetings as well.  My meetings went really well and were actually pretty enjoyable and Mom and the kids walked around and enjoyed live music and a fun fountain.  The meeting ended late Thursday night and we walked around Savannah a bit Friday morning before heading home.  We found the best shrimp ever at Tubby's Tank House and some yummy sweets before we left town.   I promised SG a trip to the toy store, a rarity for us, and she picked out a rockst...

Our Perfect Boy!

Last week, we took Charlie to two doctor's visits and both proclaimed him an awesome kid. We started with a dentist appointment to check a possible lip tie.  A lip tie is when the frenulum connecting the upper lip to the gum is too low.  It can make it difficult for them to latch correctly making nursing awkward for them and painful for mom.  Charlie has been a funny nurser from the get go and it is really uncomfortable for me.  Mom recently heard about this lip tie thing and I wanted to check it out.  Charlie hated the dentist experience!  His frenulum is low, but not something the dentist felt we should address.  I was a little disappointed hoping something would give me relief.  We do need to brush Charlie's teeth more thoroughly, but he is fine.  We also got a heads up that he is cutting three molars right now!   Our next appointment was to see a geneticist.  We have been waiting for that appointment for nearly a year! ...

Fall Picnic

After our company left, we headed to church and following that there was a picnic at the park.  Sarah Graves thoroughly enjoyed being out there playing with some of her pals from church.   Charlie climbed all the way up the big play structure!

Geaux Tigers!

We had a great time visiting with family and close friends who came to the LSU v. Georgia game!  My cousin Nikki and her husband John stayed with us and our friend Ms. Renee and her friend John stayed with Mom and Dad.  Renee's girls Michelle and Virginia came too.  Friday night, Mom and Dad hosted everyone for dinner and we had quite a little party!  I was terrible about pictures, so I only have a few.   Charlie is so leery of strangers, but he took to Ms. Renee right away!   Saturday afternoon we were back at Mom and Dad's to watch the game.  We decided it would be easier and more fun to watch it at home together and enjoy some tasty food! My little cheerleader was hoping to cheer the tigers to victory.  We played well, but in the end it wasn't our day.

Just Beachy

We packed as much fun as we possibly could into our last day at the beach.  We made friends with the nicest family while we were there and SG adored playing with their kids.  Their youngest was just a few months older than her, but it was his seven year old brother that she just worshipped! Pops brought a big kite to fly and the kids really loved it.  Especially, our new friend Levi who brought Pops every kind of snack and drink his family had on the beach to ask Pops to go get the kite to fly it.  When there wasn't enough wind, he even asked if he could blow hard and make some!  Such a sweet little guy.

Paddle Boarding

Sarah Graves watched the paddle boarders (surfers to her) all week.  She kept saying she wanted to do it and while we were taking pictures Pops spotted a paddle board and asked if she could take her picture on it.   The owner hesitantly said yes and then told us about a demonstration being done the next day on the bay side.  We were there ready to go the next morning and she got her chance!  He took her out and helped her to stand on it!  Nay and Pops also had a chance to try it out and really liked it! The water was choppy and seaweed was all around, but they had a great time trying it out!

Beach Pictures

Lately my life has been passing in one big sleep deprived blur and although we are having fun, it feels like a lot gets overlooked.  Here are some pictures that we took at the beach and I never posted.   We had a yummy dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe with Nay!
