Extra Hands

I feel so fortunate that we have such loving family that they would take turns staying with us and taking care of our baby.  On top of that, they have helped us out with so many things.  My grandmothers helped us make a lot of baby food for SG and cleaned up the kitchen for us at night so that we had more time with SG.   Then, my mother-in-law and Aaron's aunt came and volunteered to plant in our front yard for us.  We had been trying to grow azelias under this tree for some time, but they kept dying.  So, Aaron and Ms. Nancy went and picked out all new plants that Ms. Nancy and Aunt Lynn planted for us.  I don't really enjoy yard work, so this was a true gift.  Ms. Nancy made Aaron this peach pie and she also made us her signature chocolate pie (I dove into it before getting a picture).  We have eaten so well with everyone around!

Pizza Party!

Image
Saturday night we went to our favorite pizza spot to hear a local group play and enjoy some tasty pizza.  Sarah Graves loves to hear the music and she will happily sway in her high chair and munch on little bits of pizza.  During the summer the group plays outside, which is an added bonus.  It is disturbing to us, but thrilling to her that the patio is next to a train track and the train runs pretty frequent.  So, this place offers music, outdoor dining, frequent train watching, and yummy pizza, what's not to love?    Gramma got up and danced with her.  She enjoyed that!  I danced around with her some, too.  She entertained all of us! We practiced giving high-fives.  This is an important life skill that a girl needs to know. We had a great time being with Grancy, Gramma, and Aunt Nay.  There were a lot of people there, but we made our own little party.

PiPad

Sarah Graves is infatuated with the iPad!  In fact, to her it is a piPad.  She knows that it is usually in my purse and will look for it in there.  If she doesn't find it, she becomes like an addict who needs her next fix repeating piPad, piPad over and over and beginning to throw a fit.   It is a seriously wonderful device.  She will sit with you and look at an app.  She actually focuses and really pays attention to some of them.  Plus, it gives us a minute to sit with her and enjoy holding her. There is also the center button, the "home" button that she loves to push.  She will exit out of an app as soon as it opens and just keep pressing that button.  She is pretty funny because she points to things using her thumb.  She can use her index finger, but prefers to use her thumb.  She will get that thumb going and touch everything on that screen! I really do credit some of these apps with teaching her vocabulary and shapes.  ...

Fun with Grancy and Gramma

We are having a great time with Grancy and Gramma.  In fact, we have been staying quite busy and enjoying our time with them!  We are getting so spoiled to having extra help with everything.  Sarah Graves has had so much fun playing and learning new things from all her sweet family.  I think it is great for her to be exposed to all the new songs and the new ways of playing.

Missing Our Maw Maws

Image
Maw Maw and GG went home yesterday and we sure do miss them.  We had a lot of fun while they were here and thoroughly enjoyed nearly two weeks with them.  I think Sarah Graves enjoyed learning new songs and new games with them.  She was loved on nonstop, so what could be better? Now we have Grancy and Gramma here spending time with us.  She is having a ball with them and learning new things from them too.  She is so very fortunate to have so many people to love her.  No baby could be more loved than she is.
