Family Fun for the 4th

We had a fun and relaxing 4th of July at the lake with Aunt, Uncle Tim, their kids and grandkids and Maw Maw. The kids had lots of cousins to enjoy and it was so nice to have time to really catch up with everyone. 




This group liked to raft and it was fun to bump and bounce with 2 rafts!
Sarah Graves was bummed about not getting in the water, but she cheered up when Lovie and Pops helped her waterproof her finger with a rubber glove secured with duck tape! 




Lots of fun to paddle around in the kayak. 



Oh how tasty went Aunt Tammy brings brownies out to the dock!


The jet ski was a big hit!



A boatload of kids!

Paddling a kayak by yourself is pretty fun. 

Charlie and Wyatt really hit it off and had a great time together!

Lucy soaked up lots of belly rubs! Sweet Macy was very fond of her. 

The fire pit was a nice gathering spot to catch up with everyone. 

Charlie was very proud to build a fire and "cook" hot dogs for lunch!

We had a lot of love for the USA!

We had to have a 4th of July pic with GG! 


We rode around the lake and checked out fireworks while we listened to a patriotic playlist Aaron made!




After fireworks, we came back and enjoyed time to sit around the fire and Aaron brought out his telescope for stargazing. 

All too soon it was time to say goodbye. 


So happy to see sweet cousins getting to know each other. 

We stayed the rest of the day and enjoyed a bit more lake time. 

Charlie was excited to work on his waterskiing!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
