Ringing in 2018!

New Year's Eve was fun and relaxed at the lake. 
Grandaddy hung out with the kids by the fire.

Charlie learned to play Rumikub and he and Aunt Nay made a great team! He learned how to meld, make a run, and a set!

MiMi helped Charlie and Livy play games, too!

Pops and Lovie bought fireworks! The kids got to help pick them out, which Charlie loved and Sarah Graves was incredibly afraid of the building catching on fire! It was freezing cold and many thanks to Pops for doing all the set up for us to enjoy!

Sissy says, "ahhhh, it's cold!"

Livy doesn't like the cold, but she does like fireworks!

Charlie loves to take pictures and he took some awesome portraits of everyone! We had fun taking pictures with photo props, too!











After dinner we played a fun game where we used a die to pass gifts around! We all wrapped up a candy bar and had fun opening our gift to see what treat we had! 

We made it up to toast at midnight and were grateful for the warm fire!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
