Kindergarten Awards

To mark the end of the school year, the kindergarteners had an awards ceremony to celebrate something special about each child followed by a class party to celebrate the end of the school year. The awards were all themed around candy! Each child got a different type of candy that related to something special about him or her.

SG was very fond of her teacher, Ms. Rice, and will definitely miss her!

SG just adores Caroline! You can tell by the look of genuine joy on her face being with her friend.

Something about her finishing kindergarten really drives home for me that she is growing up and not a baby (always my baby though). I can't believe how fast the time is going. I am enjoying having her as my buddy. We enjoy watching TV shows together (she loves The Middle, Tiny House Hunters, say Yes to the Dress, and Fixer Upper) and she likes to pick out accessories and makeup for me. I love her Americsn Girl books and her creative ideas for her dolls. So grateful for her in my life!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
