The Growing Caldwell Family

With the kids at their school social, Aaron and I took advantage to have a dinner date in honor of our seventeenth wedding anniversary. We don't get many chances to go out just the two of us and this was really nice.  I love this season of our life and all the fun things we do with the kids. Nights out like this make me realize that it will also be fun when we have more time to be just the two of us.   

One of the perks of being in the upper school is going to the middle school socials and the Halloween social was the first one this year.  Char with Ziggy and John On the other side with Ari and Eli Swaja Charlie's friends met up at a restaurant for dinner before the event. Nothing like a gang of crazy eleven year old boys running crazy in costumes!  Sarah Graves met up with a few friends for pizza. A bit more tame for these girls - Chloe, Marcela, and Sabrina The verdict on the social was that it was a lot of fun. Some of the chaperones reported back that the boys got into the dancing! I wasn't sure if it would both Sarah Graves to have her little brother there, but as usual she adores him and was happy to have him there.   

This year we went to two trunk or treats - SFUMC and St. B's.  Sarah Graves worked really hard helping to plan and doing the decorations for the youth trunk. I think they made it look great! Sarah Graves did a group costume with her friends Elizabeth, Carrie, and Chloe. She was so excited for this event! Jono dressed as the ring master to go with the carnival theme, JJ is another leader and he helped the girls out by being Eyore, and JJ's long time friend Christopher jumped in the group! Charlie was in the midst of baseball playoffs and on his way to practice, so he went with the classic baseball player costume for this event! Livy was really excited to be there with her cousins and very much enjoyed hanging out with Sarah Graves and her friends. Sarah Graves was sweet to her and let her stay with her.  Then, it was time for the St. Benedict's trunk or treat.  With Charlie in his E.T. costume, Aaron and i donned ours as Elliot and Gertie.  It was unseasonably warm an...

Fun Run is a fun activity and gives such a great feeling of community! Of course, running around the preschool playground is a favorite activity!  Being on the Cross Country team meant Charlie ran in the first wave. All the practices paid off because he did great! Sarah Graves and her friend Emery volunteered and worked the hot chocolate station.  Friends - Ella, Andre', Emery, and Sabrina She was ready to run! Sarah Graves hurt her ankle in a softball game, but she was determined to be able to run in her last fun run! Lots of other sports going on pulled kids away before the awards, but SG was still proud to take the podium for her 1st place 8th grade girls win! Charlie was one of the kids who headed out early for a ball game, so no pics of him on the podium for his 1st place 5th grade boys win! They were both really pleased with their win!  

Lovie celebrated her birthday with a trip to Las Vegas and seeing Adele in concert, but we wanted to celebrate with her too! This was a milestone birthday, so I wanted her to feel special.  Sarah Graves also had big ideas to make Lovie feel special - Bucee's party! Two cakes meant two times to sing and make wishes! Lovie does so much to make us feel loved and takes such good care of all of us. I hope she felt that same love reflected back to her for her special day.   

It is hard to believe that these are her last school pictures at St. Benedict's! She wanted to be sure she took a good one since they are used for eighth grade graduation. She did great!  

Charlie took some great 5th grade school pics! He was concerned his hair wasn't right, but I think it's cute!
