Memorial Day Weekend

Image
We kicked off summer at the lake with GG, Boo Boo, BB, Ni Ni, Ani, and Brennan! The weather was cool, but that didnt stop the kids! It was perfect to be around the firepit and make s'mores! Mexican Train dominoes was lots of fun! We ate lots of good food and Pops' smash burgers were a favorite! A sunset cruise was a good time! We had some Phase 10 craziness! Remembering our gratitude for those who gave their lives for our freedom.  Here we go summer!

Last Day of School

Image
Suddenly, we were at the last day of school! All of the busy schedules, stressing about assignments and tests, and stories of kids acting crazy came to an end.  Charlie did well in fourth grade, but did not enjoy the experience with teachers and classmates. Most of his friends were in different homerooms and his teacher was more strict. He persevered, learned to get along with different personalities, and grew his knowledge.  Sarah Graves liked her teachers and classmates, but found algebra a struggle. She persevered, learned lessons about finding your way through hard things, and with help from Pops made it through!  I love these two SO VERY MUCH and am so proud of their character, how they treat friends and teachers, and all that they learn! I wish I could freeze time, but each stage has so much joy that I look forward to seeing what comes next.  Now, for time to enjoy summer!

Visit with Grancy

Image
We were so excited for Grancy to come. Lots of fun activities for her to see and get a real glimpse of what life is like! We took her to The Battery for a Friday night dinner and beautiful spring weather to stroll around.  Of course, we had to make a stop at Jenny's Ice Cream! We watched Sarah Graves play softball.  Then we cheered Charlie's team on.  He was happy to have his Grancy there! After ball games, we headed to the Village Green for the spring Jonquil Festival.  Charlie and Livy had to test out the kids zone.  Lovie and Pops were there too making it a full family event! That evening we worked in some Mexican Train dominoes. Grancy got to see both kids singing in the choir.  We finished the day with food at our favorite local Mexican restaurant.  It was a whirlwind for sure, but so glad she could experience lots of fun with us and see the kids doing what they love! It means a lot to share our life with her and have that connection.   ...
