Birthday and Mardi Gras!

Image
We made a really quick trip to Shreveport and boy did we pack it with fun!  We celebrated Pa Paw's 99th birthday with family and many of the special people in his life! How much fun to have all the Dillahunty side together! So good to see everyone.  These two really had a great time cutting up with each other! We also had the good fortune to go to a Mardi Gras parade! Krewe of Highland was fun to watch and even better for Sarah Graves and Charlie, they were in the parade!  Loading up the float with some throws, including ramen! The cousin cheering squad! The parade was so much fun! The route is a long one and they ran out of throws, but loved it! So thankful to Grandaddy and MiMi for making this happen for them!

Teenager!

Sarah Graves loves baking, watching baking shows, and has lots of ideas about cake decorating. She wanted to decorate her cake herself and made it a team effort with Lovie.  She was very proud of the finished product and learned that piping icing isn't as easy as it looks! For her party, friends went ice skating then came back to our house for food and cake! This guy we referred to as "Cat Man" skated around with his cat and at time with hold the cat under its front legs just above the ice and let it sway as he skated! The cat did not seem to mind...it sure did catch our attention! Pierced ears mean fun earrings! Aunt Lexie definitely picked fun ones with these rubber chickens! So many people love this sweet girl and showed up to celebrate her!

Happy New Year!

We rang in the new year at the lake! First, we started with exchanging gifts with Grandaddy and Mimi! Sarah Graves' big gift from Santa was a paddleboard and Grandaddy and Mimi gave her a wetsuit making it fun to get in the lake! Lack of a wetsuit did not stop Charlie! We made homemade tamales for dinner and they were delicious! Family feud with Charlie as the host! We finished off the evening with a lake special, karaoke! Cheers to a great 2023!
