Merry Christmas!

I really liked our Christmas card this year!


Santa came!  SG's big wishes were a bike and the Bitty twins!  Charlie didn't verbalize any wishes so Santa guessed a toy wagon, boy baby doll, singing Mickey, or dump truck would be favorites.

The bike with a seat for her baby and an Ariel helmet were a huge hit!

His car ride on was the first thing he went to.

She got a princess play tent from Maw Maw that they both love!

Toy guitars for both were a hit.

A cowgirl dress up set was fun for a bit...

We all had coordinating Christmas pjs and I forgot to get a photo of us all together!

We had a relaxing time at our house with Aunt Nay there to look at Santa and open some presents.  We enjoyed a tasty breakfast of sausage balls and pigs in a blanket thanks to Nay as well as a healthy dose of candy from our stockings!  Then, we made the quick trip to Mom and Dad's for presents with them and a lunch that was perfection.

Pops picked out some surprises and this rocking horse was a hit!  Go Home Depot!  We bleed orange!

Pops and Sissy did their Black Friday shopping together and he snuck in some surprises for her!  The best was when she opened a suitcase that he told her was for Aunt Nay!  She was shocked that he tricked her!

Mom made a fabulous lunch of beef tenderloin, twice baked potato casserole, green beans, and pralines that were divine!  
Such a wonderful day celebrating all that is good and seeing so much joy.  So glad to live so close and be able to celebrate together - that is a real gift.

Check-Up

Since Sarah Grves did not listen to our request and come over the weekend, we had our scheduled check-up this morning.  All looks good.  My blood pressure and measurements continue to be fine.  We heard her heartbeat and it always makes me smile to hear that sweet sound.  We also talked about my growing anxiety about not going into labor on my own.  Anjili is very reassuring that 90% of women do go into labor by 42 weeks and we have every reason to believe that I will too.  We also talked a bit about how even if we do have to use pitocin to induce labor it doesn't have to be as bad as I feared.  She said that she will try to make it possible to be able to move around even though you are hooked up to the monitor and the IV.  Hopefully, we will go into labor on our own! One of the things that she cautioned us about is that even though family and friends are well meaning and excited to meet the new baby, the constant focus on whether labor has begu...

Kick Off to Summer

 We had a great start to summer! Downtime at the lake with family was perfect after the busy rush at the end of school! We spent time with Aunt Brenda, Nikki, Andrea, Bobby, Fisher, Brennan, Kade, Aunt Linda, and Maw Maw.  Time by the fire pit laughing and telling stories. No idea why I don't have pictures of Charlie or Aaron, but they were there! Time for a boat ride! In May the water is still cool but feels good after you get used to it! Good to have some time to bob! The much anticipated karaoke night! Nikki and Aunt Linda had us rolling as they performed their first number with instruments! Bobby joined in and Livy was his backup singer! Pops with the house band! My favorite karaoke stars! We even got Aaron up to sing!  We laughed so hard, cheered for each other, sang our hearts out, and had a wonderful time! Steak! And a lot of it! Yum! Charcuterie lunch! This and That

While Sarah Graves was off on choir tour, we had some time with Charlie.  Play date with Ziggy. Always fun cooking up something, kicking a ball around, and inventing their own drink flavors! We spent a weekend at the lakel Then, it was time for Charlie to head off to Boy Scout camp! Sis came back from choir tour and got to work a journey for Seniors, a requirement before starting on the gold award.  Alexis was passing through Atlanta and we had a couple of great dinners! It was fun for her to see Sarah Graves too!
