Cross Country

Image
Charlie dove into school activities and started running cross country. He really liked Coach Lyndy and her son, Anderson was very nice. He did miss Coach Goodwin and Coach P.J. with a smaller team at St. B's.  Their first meet was hosted at Whitefield and it was HOT! Fun to attend a meet hosted at our school! He worked hard over the season and cut his time some, but was disappointed he didn't make top 7 boys to go to the championship meet.  One of the best parts about playing a sport is getting new spirit wear! They can wear any hoodie except on chapel day and on Fridays they wear spirit shirts, so yay for more1

Fall Sports for Charlie

As a fifth grader Charlie was eligible to run Cross Country and he really enjoyed it!  Lots of fun to run with great coaches and friends! His #1 fans! Trail run Wednesdays! Even when soaking wet running in the rain, they have fun! His interest at practice and hard work paid off earning him the award of "Most Improved Mile" at their award ceremony!  Charlie also had a fantastic season playing fall baseball on the AAA Red Wings! He played first base and pitched! I was so nervous for him to have all the pressure of pitchings and he did awesome!  First practice His team did not win the championship, which was very disappointing. In their final game Charlie pitched two of the four innings and he did great! He also had some great at bats and was able to help his team score! More than how he played, I am so proud that he spoke up to ask for the positions he wanted, and how hard he worked at practice and in the evenings to work on his skills to keep getting better. That kind of g...

First Cross Country Meet

Sarah Graves was very excited to try cross country. We watched Overcomer to give her an idea of what it was like and she was still eager to do it! I was so excited to hear the school was still planning to have the team this year. There are sweet smiles behind those masks.  So excited to have her race bib and tracker on! We brought some extra cheerleaders to help her nerves! Some more of her cheering squad right here! These girls are ready to race! Sarah Graves finished in the top half with a time of 21:33. She looked strong as she finished, despite having run a bit extra because the route was not clearly marked!
