A Few More Days of Summer!

Image
We snuck in a few more activities right before school started back! We had such a fun time at Food Truck Tuesday enjoying dinner and beautiful weather with friends (and parents)! We explored a bit more of Alabama meeting Lovie, Pops, Maw Maw, Boo Boo, and GG for dinner in Bowden! It was great to get in a visit with them while they were at the lake! I took SG and Charlie to the dentist, then spent a fun time having lunch together! We also did a refresh to the basement playroom! This project was really due to a water leak in the ceiling and the big hole to repair the pipe was a concern for Charlie, We repaired the hole, updated the lighting (no more low lighting and old brass fixtures), changed the exterior door, replaced the furniture, and made two separate hangout spaces! Sarah Graves majorly paired down her doll houses and Charlie let go of a lot of toys that he wasn't using making space for the second hangout. It was hard to get rid of toys they had good memories of, but they wer...

Camp Chickamaw!

Image
In its fourth year Camp Chickamaw is still going strong! Still a lot of water sports with activities like bingo (for money); watching America's Got Talent; tie dyeing t shirts; and painting rocks mixed in! SG has officially joined the wakeboarding ranks! Charlie has seriously advanced his skills on the wakeboard! He still doesn't care to try the skis. A friend loaned them a water trampoline and the kids put it to fun use! This camp lets parents visit and join in the fun!  Pops created a scavenger hunt for them to solve clues and find treasure! The treasure was silver coins from a sunken ship that he and Lovie learned about in Miami! Pops making homemade pizza! He grills it on the Traeger and it is delicious! Glad they all had a good time together and made memories with Lovie and Pops! What a way to wrap up summer!

Family Date Tallulah Falls Gorge

Image
We picked Sarah Graves up from camp and while we were in North Georgia we decided to visit Tallulah Falls Gorge.  I'll admit, I was envisioning a family hike by a waterfall. I never imagined it would be a 2 mile walk going up and down 1,099 stairs! Talk about a thigh workout! It was hot and humid, but we had a good time together! The kids were supportive in helping me not die as we came back up all 1,099 stairs! I have wanted to visit a Chick Fil A Dwarf House for quite some time, but our schedule doesn't seem to line up to get to one when they are open. I was glad we finally made it! Sis enjoyed the waffle with the CFA logo on it. Charlie and I really liked the sweet potatoes!  These two were worn out and promptly fell asleep on the ride home! I love that the kids have their fun, summer adventures, but I miss us all being together! Not sure I will like the chapter of life when they move out!

SG at Camp Chatooga

Image
Aside from the packing, SG loves everything about going to camp! This was her third year going to Camp Chatooga for Girls, part of Athens Y Camp.  She was so eager to be there that I had to call her back to say goodbye and let me get a pic! She had a great time! This was her first year heading off not having a friend in her cabin and she still loved it! I don't know if these are life long friends, but for the week they are great friends!

Sissy Only Kid

Image
With Charlie off to camp, it gave Sarah Graves some time to enjoy life as only kid! She went to a fun church pool party with her friends Carrie and Elizabeth that turned into a sleepover after.  We spent a fun weekend at the lake! She soaked up her time to be the only grandchild and only kid!
