The Growing Caldwell Family

Charlie made a solo trip to Shreveport. The trip got off to a rough start when Aaron's car broke down on the way to bring Charlie to Grancy. Due to some mixups with AAA, they were on the side of the interstate for several hours in the summer heat. Lovie and Pops were at the lake and went to get them while Grancy and Gramma came on to get Charlie. What a day! Grancy and Ger Ger took Charlie, Hunter, and Mason camping in a cabin at Jellystone! Fun to have cousin time and pool time! He and. Grancy had some time just the two of them too! Grandaddy and MiMi drove Char back to the lake and we spent an evening with them! Fun to get a short visit in with them! This was their first time to visit the lake during the summer!  

 We kept our tradition of celebrating Christmas with Grandaddy and MeMe over New Years at the lake.  We met up for dinner at the local Mexican restaurant.  Then, the kids were happy to open a few more gifts! Fun start to the holiday weekend!

The kids love going to the Shreveport science museum for kids. It was recently redone and we found so much fun stuff! Grandaddy joined us to explore it. We saw an IMAX movie on Pandas that was neat. We also explored all sorts of things like aerodynamics to fly planes; types of light like infrared and ultraviolet; and space,  Firefighter Charlie! The flames went out when you hit them with the hose. Or you can blow the fresh air in your face! The kids enjoyed practicing to be little veternarians. There were real animals in the vet clinic too! Sissy enjoyed petting the bunny, Fletcher. We also checked out this king snake. Charlie and I considered our ability to speak parseltongue like Harry Potter, but we don't have it! Sarah Graves and Charlie had so much fun with family in Shreveport! I don’t think they had time to be homesick they were having so much fun. Fun on the lake! Happy 4th with Grancy! The resemblance is so strong! Pool party fun! Pa Paw and all his great grands. What a special day! Ma Maw was surely smiling down watching. Horseback riding with Grandaddy and Mi Mi! There were also some trips to Waffle House and more pool time! They definitely enjoyed themselves and are talking about another visit next summer!

Sarah Graves has a spirit for adventure! When we mentioned that she was old enough to fly alone to visit her grandparents in Louisiana, she didn't hesitate to say she wanted to do it! The crew at Southwest took fantastic care of her! Granny, Aunt Arden, and Austin were there to pick her up. She was a little upset that her bag was misplaced, but they quickly found it. During the week she went to VBS with Austin and Grancy and Aunt Arden volunteered. I think she had a great time. The last day was dress like a Roman day and Grancy made sure she was decked out in a super cute toga dress! j Sissy with Ella and Lily - granddaughters of Grancy's good friend and neighbor. After breakfast, we went to the kids science museum in Shreveport. There were so many neat things there! This exhibit showed how water flows in the river and can push things like mud and rocks to change the landscape. Always fun to be with granddaddy and mi mi. Everyone loved learning about vacuum pressure with this exhibit! The kids did it over and over! Learning about weights and pulling is fun! It was a fun time learning and playing.
