First Date

Image
I just saw that this never posted!  He took her to this event in February! Aaron took Sarah Graves on her first date Saturday night.  Chick-Fil-A hosted a father-daughter date night and Aaron made reservations to take Sarah Graves.  She had a good time going with daddy and I think she felt pretty special getting her own flower and a chick-fil-a cow!  Fries and ice cream for dinner were right up her alley, too! Hopefully, this is the start of a fun tradition for them.

First Bottle

Image
While watching the game on Saturday, Aaron gave Charlie his first bottle.  It seemed right that his Daddy would give him a bottle while they watched the game together! Most people know that I do not use bottles when I am able to feed my babies myself, but we do have to get him comfortable with the bottle before I go back to work.  So, it's only fair that Daddy gets to have some of the fun of feeding and not always changing diapers!  I am a lot more relaxed than I was with Sarah Graves and a lot more confident that he can have a bottle and will still want to nurse again.  In fact, he wanted to nurse again just a few hours later!  Juggling two small children can be tough, but I love having some of the wisdom from having done this before. He looks like a satisfied baby to me!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Image
, Today is Aaron's birthday, but Saturday night we took Daddy out for a special dinner in honor of his birthday.  Normally, we would go out the tonight, but at 2 1/2 we are a little unpredictable and sometimes we just can't make it up for a full restaurant meal.  We intended to go to Pappadeaux's, but when we pulled up at 5:30 the parking lot was crazy full and people were standing outside waiting, so we decided that was more than we were willing to do.   We headed to South City Kitchen instead and had a lovely meal.  Sarah Graves was a great eater and a pleasure to be with.  She received several compliments from our waiter on how well she did and we actually enjoyed an appetizer, entrees, and dessert.  We have been so in the habit of thinking of places that are friendly for two year olds, as in they often involve hearing a number called to tell you your food is ready, that it felt like a real treat to eat somewhere that has tablecloths and real napkins! ...

A Zoo Trip

Image
While I was out of town working, Aaron took Sarah Graves to the zoo. I was excited when i realized that Aaron captured some of the fun for me with the camera! I should probably title trips to the zoo as trips to the playground because that is her favorite part!

Last Beach

Image
We spent one last morning at the beach before we had to head home.  We woke up early and headed down to soak up a little more sand. This sweet girl has really fallen in love with her daddy.  It is precious to watch! We were sad to leave the beach, but it helps knowing that we will be back.  We have plans to come back in September after Chubby arrives.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Image
That's right, it's the most wonderful time of the year..to my husband, at least.  Saturday started the college football season for LSU and Louisiana Tech.  He's a happy guy!  We were all sporting our LSU gear, even Lucy.  Lucy declined the opportunity to be part of a picture.  Sarah Graves hasn't caught on to us yet and willingly posed with her Daddy. I'll get some beach pictures posted soon!

Reading with Daddy

Image
Aaron reads the bedtime story at night.  Here she is reading Green Eggs and Ham with him for the first time.  I just love those rolls on her arms and tummy!  You might think from a lot of these pictures that she doesn't have enough clothing.  That is far from true; she just enjoys being as close to naked as possible!

Daddy and Sarah Graves

What a cute pair these two are!

Morning Time with Daddy

Sarah Graves is so chatty in the morning.  It's my favorite time with her!
