Multitasking

When I started back to work I set up standing appointments on my Outlook calendar so that I would have set times to go and pump.  Yesterday just before my "appointment" a co-worker came by and asked me to review a report and look for an explanation for some of the findings.  I grabbed the report and went to my pumping place and I had exactly 30 minutes before a meeting.  Of course, both spots were being used, but I remembered someone mentioning another room in a different building.  I head over there and realize that I have no idea where this room might be and am embarrassed to stop any of the men I see passing and ask if they know where the lactation room is!  So, I remember that there is a unique one person bathroom (as opposed to the multi-stall ones found everywhere else) in that building and decide to head there.  At this point, I have used a lot of time running around and I need to get this done before I head into a meeting.  So, I find myself in this bathroom trying to set up my pump without touching anything else because it is a bathroom after all and then stand there balancing the pump on the edge of the sink while I highlight interesting things in this report I am reviewing.  And the books suggest that you set yourself up to pump in a relaxing place maybe with a cup of tea!  Ha!

This post is hilarious! Emily is still having trouble latching on, so I'm pumping constantly so we don't have to use any formula. Of course, she always starts to cry about 5 minutes after I start to pump. The other night around midnight, I had fed her and put her down to sleep, and in a few minutes found myself getting peed on while changing a diaper--and I never stopped pumping :)!

Check-Up

Since Sarah Grves did not listen to our request and come over the weekend, we had our scheduled check-up this morning.  All looks good.  My blood pressure and measurements continue to be fine.  We heard her heartbeat and it always makes me smile to hear that sweet sound.  We also talked about my growing anxiety about not going into labor on my own.  Anjili is very reassuring that 90% of women do go into labor by 42 weeks and we have every reason to believe that I will too.  We also talked a bit about how even if we do have to use pitocin to induce labor it doesn't have to be as bad as I feared.  She said that she will try to make it possible to be able to move around even though you are hooked up to the monitor and the IV.  Hopefully, we will go into labor on our own! Kick Off to Summer

 We had a great start to summer! Downtime at the lake with family was perfect after the busy rush at the end of school! We spent time with Aunt Brenda, Nikki, Andrea, Bobby, Fisher, Brennan, Kade, Aunt Linda, and Maw Maw.  Time by the fire pit laughing and telling stories. No idea why I don't have pictures of Charlie or Aaron, but they were there! Time for a boat ride! In May the water is still cool but feels good after you get used to it! Good to have some time to bob! The much anticipated karaoke night! Nikki and Aunt Linda had us rolling as they performed their first number with instruments! Bobby joined in and Livy was his backup singer! Pops with the house band! My favorite karaoke stars! We even got Aaron up to sing!  We laughed so hard, cheered for each other, sang our hearts out, and had a wonderful time! Steak! And a lot of it! Yum! Charcuterie lunch! Mystery Tour

 Every six years there is a choir tour referred to as Mystery Tour since the kids (and parents) have no idea where they are going! We dropped her off super early and stalked facebook for clues about where she might be going!  As Ms. Kim gave her talk before they left, parents listened in and I love how she explained that they are representing not only our church, but Jesus in the world and need to behave that way.  Lovie was tracking her watch and could see them heading to Florida, Ft. Lauderdale to be exact! Yes, they spent a day at Universal Studios! There were stops in Charleston and Savannah They also went to Virginia Beach Stop at an alpaca farm! In addition to singing, Sis played the flute in the ensemble.  We thoroughly enjoyed their homecoming concert too!
