Back to School

There was a lot of excitement and some nerves as the time to go back to school got close. A new school for both of them meant lots of changes for all of us.

There were events to introduce them to other new kids coming into the grade and some kids who have been there a while. Sarah Graves' was an ice cream social at Jeni's where she knew a few of the current students - Sidney from preschool and Zayla from St. B's.
There was a party for new sixth grade boys, but I didn't get any pictures of them running around!

We purchased all the books!

Orientation day came for each (separately) and they were able to set up their lockers.

Parents had our own orientation sessions and among many things we learned about the thoughtful planners put together specifically for each grade.

Finally, it was the night before school started! Backpacks loaded and water bottles set for the first day!
Pretty excited to not be packing lunches!

New shoes for all of us!

Our family embracing the start of the new adventure!

The first day was mostly good - some anxiety finding their way around a new campus and getting to know new kids. There was also excitement for school lunch with a lot of choices and more freedom on a bigger campus.
Charlie noted that this was the prayingest school he had been to! I am praying it is going to be a wonderful year filled with learning and fun times!
