Kick Off to Summer

 We had a great start to summer! Downtime at the lake with family was perfect after the busy rush at the end of school! We spent time with Aunt Brenda, Nikki, Andrea, Bobby, Fisher, Brennan, Kade, Aunt Linda, and Maw Maw. 




Time by the fire pit laughing and telling stories. No idea why I don't have pictures of Charlie or Aaron, but they were there!



Time for a boat ride!














In May the water is still cool but feels good after you get used to it! Good to have some time to bob!

The much anticipated karaoke night!
Nikki and Aunt Linda had us rolling as they performed their first number with instruments!



Bobby joined in and Livy was his backup singer!

We even got Aaron up to sing! 
We laughed so hard, cheered for each other, sang our hearts out, and had a wonderful time!

Kade surprised Brennan and proposed at Cheaha! I was in on the surprise so that they could have pictures of their special moment!

This pretty girl came along and got to see the proposal. What a fun morning!









Charlie kept our sweet tooths fed with brownies!

LCR gets this crowd going! It gets loud and it gets competitive to see who will take the pot!



Aunt Linda enjoyed her winnings!









The kids were excited to get back up on the wakeboard! 







Sissy finished wake boarding and hitched a ride with Aunt Linda on the jet ski!






We had a great time being with family and relaxing! A great kick off to summer!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
