Busy Weekend

The weekend went by in a blur! We did some fun things, but there is just never enough time. Saturday morning we were all up early, so we decided to go out for pancakes at 7 am. On our way out, we saw a lady standing in the road looking upset so Aaron stopped to see what was wrong. She was filling in for a friend at a dentist office in the office park across from our neighborhood. She got out of her car to look at a sign and locked her keys in her car while it was running. Aaron called and the fire department came and opened her car. SG's eyes got big when the fire engine pulled up!
We went on to have a yummy breakfast and run a few errands and made it back by 10 for a nap. In the afternoon we went to a Greek festival and enjoyed the cooler weather. We picked up some gyros and tasty pastries for lunch. We came back and had plenty of time for SG to play outside and took a walk around the neighborhood. I wish we could keep temperatures in the 70's!
We went to church on Sunday and SG did well in the nursery. Leaving snacks for them to feed her seems to keep her happy. After church we had breakfast in the parish hall and SG ran around with her friend, Evelyn, who is 4. SG runs as hard as she can and even ran into a pole, but she wasn't daunted! We did a little grocery shopping and had a great time riding in the "crazy cart". After a 3 hour nap SG was ready to go again and we headed out to help Lovie shop for a dress. She is a really good shopper.
That was our busy weekend!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
