Mother's Day

Image
I had a lovely Mother's Day. During a time when it felt like we were constantly on the run, it was so nice to have some time to slow down and enjoy time together.  The day was off to an early start when Sarah Graves and Charlie made me a nice breakfast in bed. My girl took the time to research a recipe for keto pancakes and they made bacon with it.  There was so much pride bringing me breakfast.  Then, there was much silliness!  Sarah Graves was so sweet making me this card. She also made me a footprint card and Charlie gave me a sweet set of cards that he made at school. One of the sweetest parts was that both kids said their favorite thing about me was my hugs. So sweet! Sarah Graves also designed this sweet card for me. Picture with my cuties all dressed up before church. Watching Sissy acolyte like a pro!  We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying lunch at Lovie and Pops'. It was nice to hang out together since...

Ticket to Ride

Image
Nearly seven years ago Alexis came through Atlanta and visited us on her way to Washington D.C. as she and Tim were moving there. So, it seems fitting that they stopped off on their way to start their new adventure in Alexandria, LA.  Aunt Lex and Uncle Tim brought the kids a new game called Ticket to Ride. It's a strategy type game where you build train routes and when you make your route, you earn a ticket - earn 6 tickets first and you're the winner! Charlie really got into it! Their visit was short, but we really enjoyed time to enjoy good food and good conversation. Wishing them well on their next adventure and hoping we get to visit them soon!

Scout Advancement

Aaron and the Lions have had a great year! Aaron has worked so hard to help them learn what it means to be a scout. Charlie had such a good time doing the activities and has been so proud that his dad is the leader! Aaron presented each of the boys with their badge to move up to Tigers and the boys had a pin to give their parents as a thank you for all the support. All of Pack One together!

Cheaters

Charlie had a gift card from Christmas and he picked out Monopoly Cheater's Edition. It comes with plastic handcuffs and I believe that was the big attraction.  We spent a cozy Sunday morning trying out the new game. It requires some reading, which made it hard for Charlie to cheat, but those handcuffs were pretty fun! You wear them while in jail and each one of us spent quite a while in jail!

May Day

Image
May Day was changed up a little this year and they held it at the school. It was expected to poor all day, but thanks to God, it held out. It was warm and humid, but the rain held off for a few hours!  A Kona Ice brought smiles for Charlie! Sissy supported the bake sale and got a huge homemade s'more treat!  Sand art and bounce houses were popular activities! Sissy had the patience to wait in line for face painting too. For Sarah Graves and Charlie, the best part was finding school friends to run around with! Livy's favorite part was definitely the Kona Ice. She spotted that and knew she had to have one!

Kids Workshop

Image
Aaron very bravely took Sarah Graves, Charlie, and Olivia to a Home Depot Kids Workshop.  Olivia got to work and made her flower art to give to her mommy! Both girls were able to build their frames and make some fun art! Those are proud smiles! Charlie had a hard time dealing with Aaron helping Livy with the project and melted down during the workshop. He never could get it together to build his, but was fine later on. Poor guy likes having Daddy's attention.

Brave Boy

I was so proud of Charlie for being so brave when we went back to treat his wart on his foot. The initial treatment had worked pretty well and a big part of it had come off.  I was worried he would be afraid of the pain now that he knew it would hurt. He kept a cheerful attitude and didn't get too anxious. When it was time to freeze it, he hung in there and held my hand while she did it. So very brave!
