Weekend Recap

This weekend Aaron went to Florida for his friend Dustin's bachelor party, so Sarah Graves and I stayed with T and Pops for the weekend.  They spoiled both of us and we had a fun time.  Friday night they made shrimp po-boys for us and took turns walking a fussy Sarah Graves.  Then Saturday morning, we stood around her crib watching her enjoy some tummy time and she was completely enamored with her new mobile that Pops and I picked out for her.  While at their house we tried out the cloth diapers, Smartipants, and they worked really well, even overnight.
Saturday afternoon Aunt Nay joined us and we all went shopping at the outlets.  This baby enjoys a good shopping trip and really enjoyed having so many people to take turns pushing her in the stroller and parading her around the stores.  I enjoyed shopping for me at Ann Taylor for the first time in quite a while.  There is so much to choose from when it's not maternity!
On Sunday Sarah Graves woke up on the wrong side of the crib. She is usually quite pleasant in the mornings, but this was not the case on Sunday. Fortunately, there were several people around willing to hold her. She did drift off for a few minutes after breakfast.



In the afternoon we went out to a couple of stores and she proved herself to be quite the shopper again.  All fussiness was gone once we started shopping and she took a two hour nap!

She really had a fun time with Pops and enjoyed all the conversations that they shared together.
Aaron came back and she was all excited to see him and he was thrilled to see her!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
